Scriplume is moving to a browser-based writing workspace. Early access is coming soon. This page outlines our plans for storage and AI features; it is not a promise that everything stays on your device.
Development principles · Not a legal policy
Local working data — planned
The browser workspace is being designed to save manuscript working data on your device. Browser storage is not a permanent backup: clearing site data can remove it. Recovery and downloadable project backups are part of the migration plan, not features available on this website today.
Cloud artwork — planned
Uploaded artwork and future AI-created images are planned to use private cloud object storage, with asset records in our database. Artwork therefore will not live only on your device. Offline access will require a local copy; full project synchronization between devices is a separate, deferred feature.
AI processing — planned
Cloud AI features will send the story context or artwork needed for the requested task to an external provider. Saving a manuscript locally does not make that processing local. We will explain the data involved before those features become available; local-model support is not part of this migration.
Your decisions remain yours
AI suggestions are intended for you to accept, edit, or ignore. Moving to the web does not change our commitment to keeping authored work separate from model interpretations. Manuscripts and private artwork should not become routine diagnostic logs.
Clear limits, not all-local promises
Installing a web app does not keep every feature on your computer. Account services, artwork storage, and AI use the network. Before launch, we will document the services involved, retention and deletion rules, and backup limitations so you can make informed choices.
